The Muir Maxwell Trust, in conjunction with The St. Andrews Charity Fashion Show (FS2012) has raised over £150,000 with two outstanding events over last weekend. (24th and 25th of February 2012)
On Friday night, a star studded dinner & fashion show, entitled ‘The Secret Garden,’ took place in The Mansfield Traquair, Edinburgh which brought together high end fashion and a fund raising dinner culminating with the presentation of the Alfa Romeo ‘Young Designer of the Year’ award being presented to Janine Clark, and then on Saturday night in front of 1300 revellers the FS 2012 Fashion Show took place in a purpose built marquee in St Andrews.
The collaboration of FS 2012 and the Muir Maxwell Trust has raised the profile of The Muir Maxwell Trust to a new level and area of fundraising with the involvement of high end fashion, by both celebrating the achievements made by young fashion designers and bringing together guests who would not normally experience such fantastic events.
Highlights of the auction and prize draw included a safari in South Africa, a week in Provence for six, and two sets of Modalu “Pippa” handbags with each set raising £3000.
In addition to the fashion show were performances by The Others Guys (founded in 2004 in St Andrews) and Tenors Incognito with the event being hosted by fashion guru Brix Smith-Start, co-stylist for Gok Wan’s Channel 4 show, Gok’s Fashion Fix.
