Loyal supporters of the Trust once again took to the road and experienced “the loneliness of the long distance runner” in preparation for the 2007 Edinburgh Marathon and relay.
By contrast, the race was far from lonely with our runners meeting early in the morning for a light breakfast and the luxury of real “facilities”, kindly provided by Morton Fraser prior to the race. With the novelty of a new flatter course, the runners set off together and much camaraderie was experienced along the way. As the course double backed on itself for the last eight miles there were many “high fives” shared across the boundary by MMT runners.
With personal bests under our feet, we enjoyed champagne and canapés in our marquee at the finish line at Musselburgh Racecourse. It is always a great day with such a feeling of personal achievement and wonderful to be part of the team supporting our cause.
Congratulations to the Gallery Girls who were the fastest female relay team.
Three cheers for all and especially Event Consultants who not only organised the event but ran it too!
