Ann Maxwell with son Connor and Christopher Biggins attended Maidwell Hall's Speech day on Saturday 5th July 2008, to be presented with a cheque for the staggering sum of £37,368. 12 boys, 8 dads, 3 mums and headmaster Robert Lankester walked for 3 days, unsupported in the Lake District in order to raise funds in support of the Muir Maxwell Trust. Additional funds were raised by teacher David Coleman who took part in the Turkish National Day swim from Asia to Europe on Saturday 30 August. MMT would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all for their magnificent fundraising achievement and for the lovely hospitality extended to representatives of MMT on Speech day. The day was one of high emotion as the boys and their parents relived the intensity of their challenge and one mum shed tears for her twenty-nine year old brother who died of a seizure in his sleep. This has been one of the most outstanding fundraising efforts we have seen and the commitment of the boys and their parents to our cause has been overwhelming. A heartfelt thanks to all from MMT.
