Paediatric Epilepsy Conference

The Muir Maxwell Trust was delighted to be involved with the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) in the organisation of a Paediatric Epilepsy Conference, planned for Thursday 26th February 2009, held in Edinburgh at the Royal College of Surgeons.

The conference was jointly chaired by Professor Brian Neville and Jonny Maxwell, who is Chairman of MMT and one of the Trust's founders. This conference brought together some of the most eminent doctors and other professionals in the field of paediatric epilepsy who spoke about recent developments in treatment, including the UK's unique DNA service, the latest information on the benefits of the Ketogenic diet and there was a discussion about the special educational needs of children with epilepsy, amidst many other topical subjects.

We would like to say an enormous ‘thank you' to the Royal Society of Medicine for hosting the event and to all of the speakers who spoke so authoritatively on their respective subjects.  We would also like to thank all those who attended for their interest in the subject and their willingness to develop their own knowledge.  Thank you also to the event sponsors, one of which was Sensorium, who supply the MMT epilepsy alarms.
