The annual Hilton in the Community Foundation Ball took place at The London Hilton on Parklane on Saturday 24th November.
The Muir Maxwell Trust was selected by the Foundation this year to be its charity partner for the event and as such MMT will benefit from half of the funds raised on the night
Our good friend and loyal supporter Christopher Biggins joined the party to put his fantastic auctioneer skills to good use again. One of the most popular lots of the evening was the opportunity to appear on the West End stage with The Jersey Boys and in fact it sold for £12,000 three times over! A beautiful painting by MMT favourite, Fletcher Sibthorp, sold for £11,500; a huge thank you to him for such a wonderful donation. Throughout the night guests were incredibly generous, with £350,000 being raised on the night in support of the Foundation and MMT's work.
Ninety five amazing individuals joined Biggins on the stage to pledge £500 each to help purchase an epilepsy alarm for a family living in the UK, struggling to cope with their child's condition.
Guests enjoyed a fabulous evening with a gourmet meal provided by the Hilton's Executive Chef, Anthony Marshall, whose amazing tomato soufflé wowed the 700 guests!
Superb entertainment was provided by the entire London cast of the hit musical Mama Mia!
We would like to express our most sincere thanks to Dame Maureen Thomas of the Hilton in the Community Foundation and the amazing team who arranged the spectacular event so magnificently.
Funds raised on the night will go directly to providing vital epilepsy alarms to children and families across the UK, offering them the return of a good night's sleep and improved peace of mind.
An enormous thank you to all involved!
