PRESS RELEASE
It is with considerable disappointment that the Muir Maxwell Trust announced the cancellation of the Alice in Wonderland event in Glasgow. This glamorous event was being staged to help fund further work for children with epilepsy through Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.
Like many other charities, and maybe because of the financial climate, there was not sufficient support to enable the event to proceed.
Ann Maxwell, founder of the Muir Maxwell Trust and its Volunteer Fundraiser said: “Glasgow receives more support from the Muir Maxwell Trust than any other city in Scotland. For this reason I am bitterly disappointed that this event has had to be cancelled. We have pioneered the DNA service at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital, also funded the initial years of its Ketogenic Diet Clinic there. In addition we have supplied more epilepsy alarms to families in Glasgow than anywhere else in the UK. I want the people of Glasgow to know that we will still be there for them and will continue to support projects in their area as much as our resources will allow.”
