"No Mind Left Behind"

An international conference on early onset neurodevelopment disorders will take place on 29th and 30th March 2011 at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow.

Focusing on the concept of the "Social Brain; the science and the reality," Christopher Gillberg, Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, University of Gothenburg, Institute of Child Health, London and University of Glasgow, Sweden and UK, together with Sophie Dow of Scottish charity Mind Room are hosting their second conference in Glasgow.

More than 50 of the world's leading experts within the field of social communication and learning difficulties, will be speaking to over 2000 delegates at this two day event.

The Muir Maxwell Trust will be represented at this most prestigious event by one of the Trust's founders, Ann Maxwell who will speak under the heading "Epilepsy Plus." The title is based on a medical term used by psychologists referring to patients with difficult to control epilepsy and learning difficulties. Ann will tell of her personal struggle with son Muir (age 13), his epilepsy and how, despite his severe learning difficulties she has helped him to learn and to live.
