It gives me the greatest of pleasure to announce the arrival in Edinburgh of Consultant Paediatrician Richard Chin and his family. Richard has now taken up his post as Head of the Muir Maxwell Epilepsy Centre and Senior Clinical Lecturer in Paediatric Epilepsy at the University of Edinburgh, as well as Consultant Paediatric Neurologist subspecialising in epilepsy at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.
Richard comes to us from Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London and with a wealth of qualifications, prizes and expertise in paediatric epilepsy. We are thrilled to have him on board and we now look forward with excitement to the research team that will soon be joining him and to the better outcomes that will result from his work in paediatric epilepsy.
An almighty task lies before us in terms of fundraising - MMT has pledged £1 million towards the centre - but we are confident that the next three years will see the balance of the funds required successfully raised.
