A Brief Update (3rd April 2015)

Greetings from Nepal. I'm rather surprised to have found an Internet cafe at 3400m above sea level. I thought I'd make the most of this and update you on the past couple of weeks!

Just last week we all reached Everest Base Camp successfully. Whilst most of the group started their decent, of the guides and I spent the next couple of days climbing what's called, Kalapatthar peak, about 500m above Base Camp. The peak was about -20 degrees when we summited with about 50% oxygen - needless to say it was really quite demanding and took a lot out of me. I have some great photos of Max and I and I can't wait to share.

The photo that I've attached was one I took on my phone this morning. I'll be able to point them out in person, but you should be able to see Everest, Lhotse and Amadablam quite clearly.

We're all heading back down and aiming to be in Kathmandu for Monday. It's incredible up here, though I'm rather exhausted and looking forward to coming home!
