Lynne Massey's Fundraising Day

Poor little Harry didn't even make it to his own party and Mum and Dad, Lynne Massey and Stuart Reid, had to leave early to be by his side at the Sick Children's Hospital in Edinburgh, letting Grandma go home. Harry has a severe form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome and unfortunately Harry, aged 16 months was overcome by seizures, coinciding with a fundraiser organised by Lynne's sister Laura in support of the Muir Maxwell Trust and in recognition of Harry's difficult epilepsy.

Despite everything, the fundraiser, which was held in Mayfield Community Centre in Dalkeith was an enormous success raising over £6000. A look- a- like Rab C Nesbit conducted a hugely successful auction, whilst the girls sold raffle tickets for some truly covetable prizes. Lynne's Dad agreed to sing for a £200 donation to the cause and there was dancing and singing in to the wee small hours.

There is no doubt that a good time was had by all, although a few tears were shed during the course of the evening. MMT's Founder Ann Maxwell had the privilege of addressing Harry's 250 strong guests about the work of the Trust in support of children like Harry.

All, in all a fabulous way to spend Easter Sunday!

With grateful thanks to all who attended and supported the cause and a very special thank you from all at MMT to Laura, Lynne and Stuart.
